As a collection, my artwork is a reflection of my life in San Francisco, California. Tying together serene beauty with playful humor, one can always see more than what meets the eye.
I am drawn to a style with sporadic marks complemented by careful details. In my paintings, inspired be surrealism, I often experiment the elements space and color. Working with negative spaces as well as melding the foreground with the background to create an intentional ambiguity. Additionally, distorting color from the natural world.
I was born in Northern California, the area I have resided most of my life, with a five year stretch from two to seven in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I was exposed to a spiritual holistic culture and spent a lot of time at music festival. I have always felt a connection to the earth, specifically the ocean, and have a passion for environmental justice. In my sculptures and jewelry, I work to repurpose materials to give life and beauty to items that may otherwise have been discarded, creating unique character in these pieces. For ten years I practiced competitive Irish dancing. My inspiration from music and dance shows through in the movement, balance and structure of my art work.
Please enjoy.
